Mets Walwyn Strikes out 19
Thursday, September 18th , 2025
Everything was working for Tim Walwyn at Roger Dean Stadium. He had the perfect delivery. The ball was moving. The changeup was working.
In an unforgettable performance, the 24-year-old Walwyn fanned 19 Marlins and sparked the 9-6 New York N (GCL) Mets victory over Miami (GCL). He left Marlins hitters mumbling and muttering at the plate. And when he needed a strikeout, he got it.
"I don't know if there are many times that I've seen him throw better," said New York N (GCL) manager Travis Tartamella. "His location and command were really something."
In addition to collecting 19 strikeouts over 8.2 innings, Walwyn allowed 10 hits and 1 walk in a superlative outing.
"I thought I'd make it easy on the guys today," Walwyn said with a smile.
Over the season Walwyn has thrown 54.2 innings and dished out 97 strikeouts with a 6-0 mark and a 0.82 ERA.
