Barrage of Hits Gets Morehead DSL Award Monday, July 28th , 2025 New York A 2 (DSL) Yankees 2 center fielder Sam Morehead walked away with the Dominican Rookie League Player of the Week Award today after putting up some impressive numbers over the past seven days. "The Yankees 2 fans are really behind me right now," said the 24-year-old. "That helps. They give you the confidence to go out there and do better." Morehead batted .571 (12-for-21) with 5 home runs and 8 RBIs this week on his way to the award. For the season, Morehead is currently batting .311 with 14 home runs and 29 RBIs. In 30 games he has reached base at a .443 rate and scored 29 runs to date. |
