Ellis Belts Bunch of Base Hits
Wednesday, July 30th , 2025
The Baltimore (DSL) Orioles 1 stopped the Washington (DSL) Nationals by a score of 14-2 at Baseball City Complex, with the lion's share of the credit going to third baseman Walt Ellis. The 23-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Ellis said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Ellis did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Nationals.
"Not much that I can say," offered Washington (DSL) manager Eduard Santos. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Walt Ellis singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 8th.
This season, Ellis is batting .336 with 43 hits, 7 home runs, 27 RBIs, .394 OBP and has scored 20 runs.
