San Diego (DSL) could only muster 6 hits and draw 1 walk against the right-handed Pierce, who controlled them throughout the game. Atlanta (DSL) won the contest, 14-0. Pierce added 12 strikeouts in his complete-game effort. "I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Pierce told reporters after the shutout win.
