Tampa Bay (DSL) Stops Morris Hit Streak Sunday, August 31st , 2025 Baltimore (DSL) shortstop Dave Morris came into today's game against the Tampa Bay (DSL) Rays on a hot streak. He left on a cold one. The Rays did their jobs well, beating the Baltimore (DSL) Orioles 2, 13-6, and holding Morris hitless to snap his 20-game hitting streak. The 22-year-old shortstop had a few words to say after finishing 0-for-4, telling reporters only that he "came up short." "What Dave did was exciting and quite an achievement," said Orioles 2 manager Steve Andrade. "It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 20 games in a row. I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play." Morris is currently hitting at a .367 pace with 6 home runs, 33 RBIs and has scored 36 times. |
