Vázquez Suspended, Out 4 Games Tuesday, September 1st , 2026 The DSL Padres were not very happy with the home plate umpire in today's loss to DSL at Toronto Blue Jays Complex. One in particular -- Raúl Vázquez. Upon being called out on strikes, the Padres second baseman gave the ump quite an earful. For that, the man in blue gave him the thumb and sent him to an early shower. But the disgruntled Vázquez lingered on the field for another five minutes, berating the umpire. Finally his manager got him off the field and into the clubhouse. But it got worse after the game, when Vázquez told reporters, "He was awful out there. They played 'Three Blind Mice' for him." For his escapades and after-the-game oration, the league office suspended Vázquez for 4 games. So far this year, Vázquez has hit .183 with no home runs, 2 RBIs and 1 runs scored. |
