SeaWolves 2-0 Winners Over New Hampshire
|
In a tight tilt between the Erie SeaWolves and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Junior Taylor was the deciding factor. The Erie right-hander spearheaded the 2-0 win. Taylor, now 5-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 4, and allowing no runs. The SeaWolves bumped their record to 24-11 with this win.
The SeaWolves got a big at-bat from second baseman Alfredo Martínez. For the game, Martínez was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Erie a 2-0 lead.
Martínez called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
