Fresno Tacks 3-1 Loss on Colorado Springs
|
The Fresno Grizzlies got a magnificent effort from pitcher Jim Richmond, who kept Colorado Springs hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Grizzlies win at Chukchansi Park. Richmond, now 3-4, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 12, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The triumph puts Fresno at 34-29 for the season.
Ben Moore hit a 3-run home run off Jim Rowe in the bottom of the second, which put the Grizzlies ahead, 3-0. In addition to the homer, Moore had 1 double, while going 2 for 2.
"Jim can pitch. He moves the ball around," said Fresno manager Alex Gordon.
