RubberDucks Need Extra Frames to Get Past SeaWolves
The Erie SeaWolves got a sterling performance from right fielder Ben Page, but the Akron RubberDucks still prevailed, 9-8. Page went 4 for 6 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner in relief was Eli Taylor. He is now 1-1. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 4 innings. The RubberDucks improved their record to 23-34 by beating Erie.

The decisive blow was delivered by Héctor Rijo in the bottom of the 13th when he hit a run-scoring double off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Jesús Árias to win the game for Akron. The home crowd went nuts.

"What a game," said Rijo. "We needed every last run."
