The Portland Sea Dogs locked up a win at Hadlock Field, knocking off the Altoona Curve, 7-3. On the mound for Portland was right-hander Mac Ward. He played a major role in the triumph. The winner was Ward. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Jud Clayton. With this game in the books, Portland is 59-49, Altoona 49-59.

Ethan Lockyer had a big 2-run double for the Sea Dogs in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Portland leading 3-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from Jud Clayton, who is tied for 6th in the EL with a 3.05 ERA, and swatted a double to left. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sea Dogs ahead, 5-1.
