Altoona Beats Harrisburg, 11-3

The Altoona Curve stopped the Harrisburg Senators, 11-3, at Metro Bank Park. The Curve got a big game from Darren Wood, who went 4-5 with 4 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jud Clayton got the win, improving to 6-8. He worked 6 innings, giving up 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. Tony Martínez, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities.
José Colón had a big run-scoring double for the Curve in the top of the first inning. With Altoona leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Steve Strouse and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Curve ahead, 2-0.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Wood told the Altoona Today.
The Curve now have a record of 57-65 with the win over Harrisburg.
