The Brevard County Manatees knocked off the Bradenton Marauders, 3-1, in Florida State League action at Space Coast Stadium. Brevard County pitcher and Novato, California, native Rob Castle had an outstanding performance. Castle yielded 1 run over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 1. His record improves to 1-1. Johnny Blackwell earned the save, his 3rd, for the Manatees.

Alfredo Fernández helped out the Brevard County cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the shortstop was 1-5.

"If you chase it, you need to get it," said Brevard County skipper Jeremy Hernandez.

Bradenton is 2-4 after the defeat.
