Hammerheads Pocket 2-0 Win Against St. Lucie
|
The Hammerheads faced a stiff challenge from St. Lucie pitcher Luis Manuel Gallegos, but persevered to claim a win at Tradition Field. The final score was 2-0. Gallegos went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. The winner was Jupiter reliever Tommy Davis, now 2-0. The loser was Luis Manuel Gallegos. Picking up the save was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Robinson Santana.
The Hammerheads got a big at-bat from first baseman Bob Jones. For the game, Jones was 1 for 4 with a double. In the top of the first, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 3rd double of the season gave Jupiter a 1-0 lead.
"We did a lot of really good things and it was a good win," said Hammerheads manager Mike Mordecai.
The loss drops St. Lucie to 11-10.
