Calvin Falwell Field was the site of a competitive game between the Bradenton Marauders and Charlotte Stone Crabs.
The Bradenton Marauders got a superb performance from pitcher Sean Townsend, but the Charlotte Stone Crabs still won the game, 2-1. Townsend threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Cliff Apsley closed the game out for Charlotte, earning his 12th save.
Dan Jones had a direct impact on the outcome. Jones contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the second inning to put Charlotte up, 2-0.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Jones told the Charlotte Gazette.
The 5th-place Stone Crabs have won 5 in a row.
