Flying Tigers Score Late, Stun Marauders, 2-0

Lakeland and Bradenton duked it out and the Flying Tigers came out victorious.
The Lakeland Flying Tigers, despite a fine performance by Bradenton pitcher Alex Barrett, grabbed a 2-0 win at Calvin Falwell Field. Barrett allowed no runs over 6 innings. Lakeland is now 39-20, 8½ games up in the FSL North.
Lakeland used a timely hit from Freddie Johnson to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Flying Tigers ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Johnson told reporters after the game.
