St. Lucie center fielder Rob Bryant was sensational. He was 3 for 5 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 times. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Tampa beat the Mets, 6-5. Tampa reliever Dean Koevoet picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Darryl Stone was saddled with the loss. The win has Tampa at 10-16.

Steve Baker was 2 for 4 with 2 singles for Tampa. The 22-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Darryl Stone. It was his 10th RBI of the season.

"Winning is hard sometimes," said Yankees manager Eric Owens. "This one was nice to get."
